haro architekten is an Austrian-Spanish architectural office based in Salzburg, Austria. In 2000, the office partners, Bernd Haslauer and Roberto Rodriguez Paraja, formed their professional partnership in Madrid while collaborating with Vicens+Ramos arquitectos. Over the course of the last years, the team has completed architectural projects ranging in scale from loft interiors to large public buildings and infrastructure works. In 2010, Roberto Rodriguez Paraja moved to Salzburg, and together founded “Haslauer & Rodriguez Paraja Architekten ZT GmbH”. The team is now focused in projects in Austria, Spain and Latin America.
In their approach to different projects, preconceived responses are never brought out to deal with the issues encountered; instead, each is treated as a new beginning and a new opportunity to investigate space, light, and material. Of paramount importance is the degree to which their plans are organised to serve the needs of their clients in an effective manner, while at the same time, providing the projects with a legible conceptual framework that elevates the works above the mere service of building programming.
