Mountain Apartment in Bansko - BTZ

Fimera Design Studio as Architects

How can you get the feeling of a mountain hut without losing the starting point of modern design?

FIMERA DESIGN gives a brilliant answer to this question with this interior, which playfully and precisely combines raw country decor, distilled Bulgarian ethno and clean urban lifestyle. The secret of a good combination is in the right balance of strict geometry, pragmatic solutions and in-depth decorative elements that not only "decorate" but unite and give meaning to the space.

The holiday apartment is 90 sq.m and is located in one of the nice complexes of Bansko. The request of the owners is for a design without reconstruction, for modern furniture outside the cliché. Fimera Studio takes into account the context and creates a modern vision, reminiscent of a mountain hut with a sophisticated Bulgarian ethnic element, which runs like a thin red thread throughout the interior.

The result is a home different from the standard hotel aesthetics, which leaves a pleasant memory of the holiday. The overall implementation is by Fimera Contract, as almost all furniture is designed by the studio and is made of solid wood, without the use of varnish from Bulgarian companies.

The living room combines living room, dining room and kitchen. The interior uses a lot of natural wood, solid wood, leather, which are traditionally associated with the aesthetics of the Bulgarian hut. The space is eclectic, which brings a sense of different latitudes. The leather on the floor has a carefully chosen pattern - a classic that fits perfectly into the concept of the interior. The box is interpreted differently in the whole house. One of the decorative accents is a playfully stylized moose head - a find from e-bay. The motif with stylized deer is repeated in several places in the house.

The ethnic pattern is also played in the bedroom - it starts from the headboard of the bed and passes into the grid of the wardrobe. The night lamp is an author's project of the Bulgarian designer Denitsa Boyadzhieva. With its handmade work, it brings a sense of authentic handicraft production.

The dining table designed by Fimera is remarkable with the combination of oak top and metal base with white legs. The clock is from the collection of Diamantini & Domeniconi. The low auxiliary tables, again designed by the authors, are a modern interpretation of the traditional Bulgarian table "paralia".

In the master bedroom, traditional three-legged chairs are used as bedside tables. The highlight is the lighting fixtures from Faro. White pine paneling brings the feeling of a house in the mountains. The wood is treated only with oil, which gives the impression of a "lived" space with a past.

The ethnic motif, which is like a red thread in the design of the apartment, sneaks into the children's room again. The apartment uses paintings by young artists commissioned from licensed graphic art sites. The paneling is a solution that achieves a feeling of "warm" space.

Advantage of the apartment are the large dormers, through which a lot of light enters and bring in the amazing views of the mountains and Bansko.

Ethno patterns from Chiprovtsi is one of the discreet but very strong accents in the interior. It is clean, stylized and embroidered on the fabric, and it took a lot of effort to achieve the perfect combination of colors and materials.
