GO FITNESS

Jorge Hernandez de la Garza as Architects

Located in a residential neighborhood in the south part of Mexico City, originates this project which stands out at first sight because of the chromatic contrast that produces the big black box within a context of stoned streets and colonial type houses.

The façade prismatic volume was covered by Quadrolines of Hunter Douglas in black color to achieve a continuous and homogeneous lecture in the elevation.

In the interior it was proposed a triple height patio which top off with a big scale green wall. Around this central core there were three platforms; in the first platform in first floor plan the free weight equipment, integrated weight, and cardiovascular equipment are located. In the second level floor the fitness, welldness and cycling are found. Al last, in the third platform the Crossfit Center.

The interior design consisted in the dismantlement of all existing materials with the design premise, since the beginning, of every structural element and installations be shown in an apparent way. The green vertical surfaces and the constructive details generate a pleasant contrast between the new proposal and the existing building.

The selected materials were steel, crystal, and wood. Trying to maintain a balance between the composition elements and give an industrial look. All this thought so the user can enjoy the spaces while working out.
