A new venue to showcase emerging artists from around the world.

Ben Adams Architects as Architects

International art dealers Hauser & Wirth opened its first London gallery in Piccadilly in 2003, with an installation by Paul McCarthy. Growing in size and reputation, with galleries located in Zurich, New York, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles, Hauser and Wirth decided to expand their London premises opening a new space at 23 Savile Row in 2010Ben Adams Architects collaborated with New York practice Selldorf Architects to design new private galleries and support spaces within this prominent, yet discrete, corner site building.

The gallery features two new exhibition spaces, the North Gallery and the South Gallery, which can combine for a single show, as well as a new library lined in caramelised oak, and private offices. An open plan reception area also houses the gallery shop, featuring catalogues, monographs and artists’ books, as well as a curated selection of artist collaborations and crafted products from international and local makers.Private clients come to Hauser & Wirth to discuss individual pieces of art, or whole collections, and need appropriate spaces in which to view and discuss work. A new floor creates an intimate space in which to meet dealers and collectors and support the operations of the galleries below.
