Høje-Taastrup high school was built on the basis of a first prize in a 1978 open competition.
The school consists of four two-storey buildings designed to function as a single unit with ordinary classrooms in three of the buildings and special-subject rooms, administration offices and a staff room in the fourth.
Below the striped roof, which encircles the schoolyard on three sides and connects the four buildings, is the school cafeteria and an enclosed walkway at ground level and on the firststorey balconies. The school is used by about 720 students and 60 teachers daily.
