Henning Larsen Architects, Henning Larsen Design and Olafur Eliasson joined forces in the design and arrangement of the Icelandic Pavilion presented at the architectural biennale in Venice.
The assignment was an offshoot of the new concert and conference project in Reykjavik, which these three companies won in an international competition last year.
Like the concert complex, the exhibition derives great inspiration from the contrasts in Iceland’s nature. The scenery recurs all through the exhibition concept, i.e. from posters, bags and logos to facade modules the height of a man and as an interactive model with incorporated sound effects.
