The Room Mate hotel Aitana at IJDock is a trendy design hotel and the brainchild of the Dutch architects Ben Loerakker and Jan Bakers and the Spanish interior designer Tomas Alia. Part of the Spanish Room Mate hotel chain, this property was completed on 18 July 2013 by Hurks moes bouw. It is a 13-storey building with 283 light, spacious rooms and suites. The hotel also has seven meeting rooms, several lounge bars, a restaurant and a gym, and offers free Wi-Fi. In keeping with Spanish customs and hospitality, guests can enjoy breakfast until 12 noon. The Aitana will also feature a restaurant and bar, with an outdoor café. The hotel will open its doors to the public on 20 August.
