theCATwork as Architects

The "Serdivan 127" housing project in the Serdivan district of Sakarya was designed with the settlement of the systematic relationship between the blocks formed by square and rectangular modules.

In order to create a new perspective for the "living complex" for the users in the project location; two types of block systems have been created with the combinations of 3 different types of apartment modules. All the flats within the settlement are related with the land boundary, inner street, courtyard and social areas. In this way, the project has been re-evaluated in the trilogy of collective living space, environment and common areas to create a value. Daylight and landscape orientation were strengthened by the relations of the blocks on the land. The relationship between the users and the landscape between the building blocks was aimed to be ensured by balconies and ground terraces. Metal panels are used for light control on the facade. The basement floors of the building blocks were combined and parking, indoor pool, social spaces, warehouses and technical spaces were positioned.

The project, by establishing a relationship with the surrounding green area and neighboring parcels; it has drawn a different vision to the "living complex"  phenomenon, opposite to where has become a habit of being enclosed. In this way, it is aimed to increase the quality of life by providing diversity in the living and usage areas of the users.
