The first step in this project was to rearrange the interior space distribution of the original layout. The pre-existing structure, in fact, despite having valuable connotations, was not fully functional to the needs of the clients.
A complex restoration work made it possible to redefine the central staircase, which now is the fulcrum of the project, designed to be the link between all the rooms of the house, where different materials merge: stone, glass, wood boiserie and corten steel. A mix that gives life and a space that connects the basement floor to the attic floor, leading to a large garden roof.
Despite the relevance of the restoration intervention, the sensitivity with which the new elements have been associated in the pre-existing architecture is the fundamental theme. A manifestation of a form of respect towards the antecedent project.
Thanks to this particular attention, every single element has been inserted in the context in a reasoned way, creating a harmonious whole between furnishing objects, architectural elements and materials.
