Architectural design

With this project, Liqui undertook the complete architectural design of the whole interior within the shell of this striking triangular-shaped building set on the main road into Jeddah. We conceived the whole layout and all structural elements within this exclusive coffee shop interior and flagship store. We designed a kitchen, various seating areas, and an intriguing staircase and ‘bridge’ leading to a hidden retail space. On the Greek island of Mykonos is the fantastic Argo Hotel Mykonos for which they decided to give a new look by using our Cements Smoke ceramic, a colour that imitates cement, adding the advantages of porcelain stoneware, placing it all over the terrace, a simple way to modernise the hotel. The Godrej South Estate Experience Centre has been designed for the Mumbai-based real estate developer Mogul in the heart of New Delhi. The brief is centered around conceptualising a space that has an instant and lasting impact on the visitor - to impress and captivate, while also communicating the essence of the project. However, up until now, there has been a lack of infrastructure for privately owned bikes, such as suitable parking places. All too often, you encounter neglected bikes that have fallen victim to the weather and vandalism. The concept of the project is based on the idea of natural beauty and wealth of the southern region, which is transmitted by the peculiar interior and lighting solutions.Ceiling panels imitate clouds, and lighting devices located between them at a short distance create a diffused ambient light. This result was achieved due to the specially designed profile capturing the desired angle of the light flux of the strip. The lighting design is also consonant to the space zoning: for example, highlighting of the bar was achieved with pendant lights with a clearly defined composite vertical, yet not loading the room visually. Henry House is a 140-year-old Victorian terrace house that has been refurbished and extended with a contemporary rear ground level extension. This Victorian is one of a pair of double-storey, single-fronted terraces that was originally built in 1878, and is part of the rich history of buildings that line this street in East Melbourne. The house had undergone an earlier renovation by the previous tenants that widened the footprint of the rear ground level rooms to take advantage of the full width of the narrow site.
