Wine bar TEN10

The prominent position of the bar in Pirgos, Greece, benefits from focused perspective views over the central town square, and its good orientation allows the use of natural light; this context, and the owners’ desire for clear, singular lines in the interior, provided the framework for the design elaboration. Caption The layout places the bar and the cellar in the middle of the composition, creating a memorable identity. The monolithic bar bench, made of natural stone in emerald color, and its framing by the wooden cellar, designed to be organically integrated into the space, is combined with the distinctive metal roof that mirrors natural light, entering the space through clerestory windows during the day. Pantheon Espresso Bar

Pantheon espresso bar is one of the oldest and most central café bars in Pyrgos Helias, Greece. Our approach targeted at creating a strong identity of the store, combining ordinary material textures within a contemporary framework. The interior design is visually externalized to the public space (pedestrian street), setting the café as a landmark while creating a continuum between internal and external space. Caption The interior surfaces (walls, bar, lights) are covered with a “skin” made of familiar materials (plywood, black iron sheets, granite) processed with a contemporary way employing novel techniques both in terms of design (scripting) and fabrication (CNC milling machine, Plasma Cutter). Console Malakoff

Custom TV console and bookcase design. The bookcase, in birch plywood with joints between shelves and side panels, seems to hang from the ceiling as it descends along the wall to approach the lacquered Blue base. The contrast between the simplicity of the wood, emphasized by the exposed plywood heads, and the base finished with a refined embossed lacquering, makes the piece of furniture simple and at the same time elegant and modern. To emphasize the importance of the base, this was placed on a birch plywood top, which acts as a base and links the design of the furniture with the bookcase. More

MEDIRAMA Dental CLinic

Interior Design Project for the Medirama Dental Clinic. For a dental clinic, having clean, aseptic and bright spaces is essential both for the doctors who work there and for the patients who perceive it as a safe place. The microcement floor and the white walls give a perception of cleanliness and order to the space, the addition of light birch wood in the false ceiling panels and in the plywood doors is of a completely different nature. These few wooden elements mean that for a generally cold and impersonal environment, it can become welcoming and bright. Almost a psychological help, which prepares and reassures patients about to undergo dental surgery. More

Project • By VLOT architectenPrivate Houses

In a garden between a dike and farmland VLOT architecten designed a small house.   The main goal of the clients was to create a place where they could enjoy the garden more as well as the view over the farmland. This is translated in a wooden structure that is interwoven with its direct surroundings. Existing plants and trees are incorporated in the structure. The entire glazed façade can be opened and in doing so is fading the border between the inside and outside. The cantilever adds to this and creates a gradual transition.   Buitenhuis is 54 m2 in size however, when the weather allows it, the entire deck can be experienced as surface area enlarging to 210 m2. The floor is heightened a little from the garden and in d... More

Harmood Street

This project is the full reconfiguration and extension of a small, semi-detached house in Kentish Town that was cramped, badly laid out and badly built. We worked closely with the client to understand their requirements. We provided them with additional space, good floor to ceiling heights throughout and the right light. We succeeded in getting permission for large side and rear extensions, with provision to lower the floor in the extension to create more height where possible, as well as open up a small rear patio. Both the extensions were designed to provide maximum light. Part of the loft space was also opened up to give height and space to the main rooms on first floor. Ply is the predominant material used as to clad the walls and st... More

Inspired by Philip Johnson’s Glass House as well as a minimal-naturalist approach, Teca House is a contemporary building born from the ruins of a rustic house on the Biellese hills of Italy.
