Cave-like Zolaism Café offers a sensual and perceptual feel of returning to nature

In Aranya-Qinhuangdao, China, Zolaism Café by B.L.U.E Architecture invites visitors in to escape the pace of the city. With the inclusion of man-made stones that recall the mountains and the seas, the design aims to highlight the ability of architecture to create emotion and memory.  Eiichi Kano The architecture of the cafe is carefully orchestrated to look improvisational. Centred around organic forms, the rocks supporting the cave define three sides of glass enclosures. The different rock column sizes conceal the steel structure that divides the space. Furthermore, private restrooms can be found in two of the stone formations.  Eiichi Kano Chairs and tables are located freely throughout the spaces between the... More

Cheese Bakery

Cheese Bakery cafe is located in the heart of Lviv city in a historic building of the 19th century. The brick walls of the room are riddled with history. We decided to preserve their original appearance as well as marble floors and windoor, a beautiful vaulted ceiling, and antique cast iron heating radiators. Despite the fact that the building is historical, the cafe is modern. This place is for people who adore delicious cuisine and a cozy atmosphere. We tried to avoid the feeling of a place of public catering. Therefore, in this interior, there are no identical chairs in a row. On the contrary, all the furniture, dishes, and lamps are different. All details work for a common goal which is to make a visitor feel as if he has come to visit h... More

Margarita Bistro

TaskTo create a new bistro design in place of the famous Margarita Cafe. ChallengesTo place an open kitchen and 60 seats in a small area so as not to sacrifice the comfort of the guests. To accentuate the bright cuisine of the chef Glen Ballis with seasonal products in a minimalistic interior. IdeaTo create a light space with an open kitchen. Despite the simplicity and minimal interior, we decided to bet on the details and finish, which would be interesting to look and study. We combined minimalism with warm shades... More
