Snøhetta brings a modern vision to the remote historic hotel Finse 1222

At the very highest point of the Norwegian Railway track and only accessible by train, you will find the mountain village Finse.  Situated amidst the beautiful mountain landscape is the stately hotel Finse 1222. Originally constructed in 1906 to provide lodging for railroad workers, it reopened as a hotel in 1902. Located in Larchmont Village in Los Angeles, Vernetti is a neighbourhood restaurant where old school meets new school Italian.  Inspired by a century-long history of Italian-American cuisine, Assembledge+ collaborated with the restaurant owners to remodel and expanded the space into a cleaner, more modern aesthetic.  An open wall separates the bar and restaurant yet allows for visual connectivity. Interior materials and fixtures are sourced from various artisans and fabricators to evoke a modernized European bistro aesthetic. Prince Eugene of Savoy, a true cosmopolitan and patron of the arts, inspired the latest hotel project in the luxury & lifestyle category: “Andaz Vienna am Belvedere”, part of a division of the Hyatt Group, with Signa as client. This design line by Hyatt places particular emphasis on embedding properties in the local environment: Vienna’s history is incorporated and continued in the visual narrative. Perkin Hotel

The site situates at the north-south axis along a narrow lot in the hottest gathering hub in Tsimshatsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The layout is divided into portions with its northern side facing the tranquil greenery the Hong Kong Observatory while the southern side enchroching to the happening Victoria Harbour. The idea of bi-fold city is therefore created to cater for different visitors whom can enjoy these two opposing views from guestrooms proposed at different wings.  More

Ridge View for Holland America/Princess

This project consists of a three story, 99 room addition to the 460 room McKinley Chalets Resort, a Holland America property located at Denali National Park. Our work began with site selection and master-planning efforts, leading to the role of design architect on the shell scope and full interior design services. The structure is sited to take advantage of Mount Healy views and sits adjacent to a natural grade change, creating the opportunity for a second floor entry via pedestrian bridge. This ensures that guests, many of them elderly, are no more than one level away from their room. Wolf - Nordstrom

Wolf is located in the Flagship Nordstrom store in mid-town Manhattan, NYC. Three floors above the street, the 90 seat restaurant - including a full-menu lounge and intimate private dining - is inspired by modern Nordic detailing filtered through the spirit of the Pacific Northwest. The architecture is clean and crisp, with everything in its right place, while the finishes are natural, well-crafted and enduring. LYCS Architects use ‘space corridor’ design matrix to anchor guest experience within site history at Taizhou Linhai Yufengli Boutique Hotel

LYCS Architecture specialize in urban development and interior design anchored within concerns around urban density and responsiveness to unique user and site needs.  When they embarked on the ambitious reconstruction/redevelopment of a 4,000 sq. m site in the ancient town of Linhai in China’s Zhejiang Province into a boutique hotel, they began by addressing the existing site architecture and its associated history(ies).
