The Campton

The Campton is a newly developed property in Hong Kong. As a response to the theme "The Future is Life", the aluminum façade is adorned with a golden copper mesh, which is inspired by the elements of QR code and the Matrix. Horizontally bendable Flexglo™ F22 with 3000k and vertically bendable F23 with 4000k are used in this project. The goal is to create multiple vertical highlights illuminating from a far distance, which echoes the futuristic theme, thus outlining a unique boutique-style living environment. Kimpton Margot Sydney

Kimpton Margot Sydney is one of Sydney's most exquisite Art Deco buildings. The inspiration comes from the necessity of highlighting the art deco features of the original design, with a subtle lighting scheme that would discreetly dialogue with details. The main challenge of the project was to provide a single family of products that could be declined for different requirements and provide a consistent perception of the areas throughout the hotel. Quality, reduced lead time, competitive price point, and warm dim technology also played an important role in the product selection. The lighting solution includes general indirect illumination for the main lobby with F22 high output installed in the mezzanine bulkhead to small details in bars and... More

Dujiangyan Forest Resort Hotel

Dujiangyan city features in the wild forests in Chengdu Plain, famous of the Panda, and a tremendous ancient water institution in two thousand years ago. Our project lies in the raw massif; and is accompanied by forests, rivers, precious wild creatures. Like a floating roof between the hills and trees, the architecture provides a primitive forest retreat experience. PLAT ASIA The architect is designated to decide on the site on a vast scale. Walking in the rural and original forest, the architect finally selected four areas, bare ground and covered by rare vegetation. The building surrounded by trees avoids the original environment. Considering the local solar angle in winter (35.5 degrees), maximizing the daylight, used layers of roo... More

Sydney Hotel

Inside a hotel in Sydney, Flexglo™ F15 LED lights are employed for contour lighting indoors and outdoors. With vertical and horizontal bending options, F15 flexible lights gave the lighting designer freedom to get creative when handling complicated architectures like hotels with vastly different lighting demands.  The LED lights are mounted in the recess between the reception counter and the floor. Thanks to the incredible flexibility, bendability and running length, the light fixtures can fit neatly with the line of the counter, and most notably, integrate seamlessly with the arc corner. This not only makes the original structure of the counter to take center stage, but also gives expansiveness to the interior.  Beyond th... More

Indian Hotel

Designing a lighting fountain could be tricky as there is so much at play that could spoil the overall landscape. In an Indian hotel, the waterproof Flexglo™ F22 flexible lights transform its water fountain into a dramatic nighttime focal point.  The position of the light either breaks or makes the mood of the space. The Clear luminaires and connections are properly sealed and watertight. Instead of submerging the LEDs, the designer decided to mount them below the pedestal and the sides of the staircases. This well thought placement pays dividends because the water fountain turns out soothing visually, allowing people from all directions to get the optimal visual effects of the water feature. More

Hotel Bristol

This hotel was recently renovated, a project that preserved the traditional identity of the structure opened almost a hundred years ago, in 1929, by Thon Hotels, one of Norway’s largest hotel chains. The lighting design devised by SML Lighting involved the exteriors of the two buildings at the intersection of Kristian IV's and Rosenkrantz’ gate, using light to highlight the first floors of both facades, one historical and the other decidedly more modern. The lighting effect obtained in this way creates a sort of visual continuum that leads the eye of passers-by down a long urban perspective. For the rose-coloured building, with its large four-part windows and period lanterns fixed to the wall on the ground floor,&nbs... More
