New Urban Campus for Bocconi University features SANAA’s signature theme of transparency

The new Urban Campus for the Bocconi University is located on a large site close to the city centre of Milan, adjacent to the existing university. In a radical departure from the axial relationships and rectilinear volumes typical of the adjacent campus, the project comprises several sinuous buildings with shimmery metallic skin.  Filippo Fortis Each building on the new campus is dedicated to its own program: the teaching and administration building (several interconnected cells), dormitories and a recreation centre. Shenzhen Rural Commercial Bank Headquarters marks a new landmark in sustainable design

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) reveals 150-meter-tall mixed-used tower in the central district of Bao’an Shenzhen. The intriguing design by SOM is in line with the firm’s rich tradition of integrating architectural design and structural engineering. © Seth Powers Core the design is a diagrid structure. Santiago Calatrava’s UAE pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai features dynamic movable roof structure and standard-setting sustainability principles

Designed by Santiago Calatrava, the UAE pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai site is an immersive experience for guests to discover the history and future of the UAE. Spanning across an area of 15,000 meters, the 27.8-meter-tall building includes a movable roof structure made up of 28 ‘wings’. The wings can fully open within three minutes and position themselves anywhere between 110 and 125 degrees. The dynamic design draws inspiration from the falcon, which is the national bird of the UAE. Saltbox Passive House celebrates the rural building vernacular of Quebec’s Eastern Townships

In the Eastern Townships of Quebec, the Saltbox Passive House by  L’Abri is a 3100 square foot single-family home built on three levels. With a design that is inspired by the region’s architectural heritage, the home has also achieved LEED Platinum and PHIUS 2018+ certification. It is now the third house to achieve passive house certification in Quebec and shows that passive house standards can be achieved while being expressive of a region’s building vernacular. The Student Services Building at Cal Poly Pomona

Situated at the gateway to the Hudson Yards submarket, this repositioned, LEED Platinum office tower maintains the expression of the site and neighborhood while attracting creative tenants to its new Class-A workspace. KPF renovated the eight-story warehouse and designed a new, 17-story building to rise from the podium. On the exterior, the podium’s lowered brick spandrels and new ribbon windows effuse greater natural light into the space. The Quayside

With great beaches, local culture and lush rainforest vegetation from the nearby Ostional Wildlife Refuge, Nosara, Costa Rica is a surf and watersport lovers dream. Surfing is king there, with many vacationers coming back year after year to ride the waves.
